Oh What Fun, Michael is One! A Christmas Themed First Birthday Party

Experience the Joy of a Christmas Themed First Birthday Party
How wonderful it is to share the story of a Christmas themed first birthday party on the eve of Christmas itself! Michael’s birthday coincided with the day after Thanksgiving this year, and with the holiday season in full swing, it felt like the perfect time to throw a festive celebration. The opportunity to decorate for this special occasion was truly a delight, as I have always had a deep love for the Christmas season. Finding decorations and party supplies was a breeze, both in stores and online. Additionally, the chosen venue was already adorned beautifully with trees and poinsettias, and they were hosting a breathtaking light-up night on the same evening as the birthday party!

I’ve always believed in throwing grand parties for my children’s first birthdays (you can read about Doni’s celebration here). This milestone is truly significant and deserves to be marked after a year filled with hustle and bustle. Although Michael wasn’t feeling his best, he remained a cheerful and happy little boy throughout the event. His sweet disposition is something I wish I could preserve forever. After a whirlwind year of selling our house, moving, and designing our new home, it was refreshing to dedicate an evening to celebrating our little Mikey surrounded by our loved ones. We enjoyed a delicious dinner, had a visit from Santa Claus, built gingerbread houses, and marveled at the venue’s dazzling light display through its floor-to-ceiling windows. It couldn’t have been more perfect!
Collaborating with Amazing Vendors for an Unforgettable Party
I had the pleasure of working with some incredible vendors for this celebration. One standout was Confetti Carousel (check out their website here!), who created the most stunning organic balloon garland for our cake smash. Their professionalism and willingness to accommodate our needs were truly remarkable, and I cannot recommend them enough. By sharing a digital copy of our invitation, they were able to perfectly match and arrange the colors to create a cohesive look. Moreover, they use high-quality balloons, which is crucial. The last thing anyone wants is for balloons to pop during transportation before the party even begins. We were amazed at how durable these balloons were, especially as we packed them tightly into the back of an SUV without any damage. If you’re looking for convenience and peace of mind, Confetti Carousel also offers full party planning services and an extensive range of decorations, allowing you to sit back, relax, and leave all the details in their capable hands.

Gratitude to Everyone Involved
A heartfelt thank you to all those who contributed to the success of this party! Balancing Thanksgiving preparations, traveling from out of town, and ensuring everything and everyone was taken care of proved to be quite challenging. My mother baked countless cookies that added a special touch to the dessert table. She even made icing for the gingerbread houses at the last minute, as I had somehow overlooked that task. It was her idea to have Santa hats and gifts for the kids, which added an adorable touch. My mother-in-law graciously lent a hand, picking up last-minute items and bringing cookies and decorations. Without her help, there’s no way we could have fit everything in our car in a single trip. And a special shoutout to my brother for volunteering to play Santa Claus. The kids were beyond thrilled, although my perceptive little niece did manage to figure it out.
