How to Activate Your Aetna Flex Card
To activate your Aetna Flex Card, simply follow these steps:
- Visit the page aetna.nationsbenefits.com/activate
- Enter the 16-digit card number and expiration date of your Benefits Mastercard® Prepaid Card
- Provide your Date of Birth and Last Name as provided during your health plan enrollment

How to Use Your OTCHS Benefits In-Store
Make the most of your OTCHS benefits with these steps:
- Refer to your OTC catalog to identify the items you want to purchase. Only items listed in your catalog are available through your plan.
- Visit any approved participating OTCHS-enabled CVS Pharmacy®, CVS Pharmacy y más®, or Navarro® store. Note that not all CVS stores participate in this benefit.
- In stores with dedicated OTCHS sections, locate eligible products with blue signs. Alternatively, look for blue labels indicating approved products throughout the store.
- Redeem your benefit at any register. Inform the cashier that you have an OTC benefit and present your member ID insurance card or a valid ID for eligibility verification. The member ID card is used for verification purposes only and not as a payment method.
- Please note that in-store prices may vary, but the prices listed in the catalog will be deducted from your benefit. Catalog prices cannot be combined with promotional offers or ExtraBucks® Rewards. Product availability may vary across CVS® OTCHS enabled stores.

How Does the Card Work?
Starting January 1, we load the card with $100 every quarter. You can use this card to pay for in-network copayments when visiting a primary care physician (PCP) office, a specialist office, or offices that perform certain other services.
If your office accepts Mastercard®, swipe the card as a debit card (with or without a PIN) to pay the copayment amount. You can pay the full amount using the card, or if your office allows multiple payment methods, use the card for a portion of the amount and another payment method for the rest.
Troubleshooting Card Issues
If you encounter any problems with your card, consider the following:
- Ensure that you are using the card only for copayments.
- Make sure the card is activated. Activate the card by calling the number on the activation sticker: 1-877-261-9951 (TTY: 711). After activation, try making the payment again.
- Check if the expense is eligible under your plan. Refer to your Explanation of Coverage (EOC) document for details.
