Rock Out with Your Guac Out!
So, I did it. I finally measured out the ingredients for my guacamole seasoning mix. It’s a task I’ve been avoiding, but it’s time to share the secret of how I turn avocados into something truly wonderful. Something that will have you licking the bowl clean and any surface it touches. But before we dive into that, let me share a little anecdote.
Jenn and Knives: A Recipe for Disaster
Okay, okay, enough about me and my mishaps. Let’s get back to the main topic – guacamole! After all, it’s National Guacamole Day! So, let’s celebrate and make some guacamole that will blow your mind!
Guacamole FTW!
Let’s start with my base guacamole recipe for one avocado. If you’re using smaller avocados, feel free to use two. And if you need more, simply double, triple, or quadruple the recipe. Get ready to Guac!
Ingredients
- 1 jumbo, ripe HAAS Avocado
- 1-2 tsp of Mrs. Renfro’s Green Salsa (or your favorite jar of salsa verde!)
- 3 tablespoons of chopped, ripe tomato
- 1/4 tsp of lime juice for a fruity burst of acidity
Then, add the seasoning blend below and any of the add-ins that tickle your taste buds!
Add-ins
- Chopped red onion
- Fresh, diced jalapeños
- Fresh cilantro
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients, excluding the tomatoes.
- Mash to your desired consistency.
- Top with diced tomatoes and dig in!
- Personally, I like mine on the chunkier side – it sticks to the chips better.
Serve your guacamole with crispy corn tortilla chips or as a topping for tacos, nachos, or anything your heart desires!
Feel free to double or quadruple the measurements as needed. I usually make a large batch once a month to enjoy easy peasy guacamole all month long!
So… How Was It?
Amazing, of course! The photos may not be perfect because I had a very eager guacamole enthusiast hovering over the bowl while I tried to capture the perfect shot. But trust me, the taste makes up for it. We may lack patience, but we excel at making incredible guacamole. It’s both a gift and a curse.
Your homework? Go make some guac today! It’s a delicious and versatile dish that everyone will love.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to sit in front of the fan with Bullet the Ferret – our AC is broken, and the fall weather hasn’t arrived yet. I’m melting!
